Many of their portable Sonic games have been pretty enjoyable.
It's pretty widely agreed that Sonic Rush is an excellent game. You gonna disagree with that?

Except that one. Otherwise the shows, comics, and games have not been great since SA2, few were even decent.

The shows and comics have never been great. You can't say that it's something that just suddenly went downhill after Sonic Adventure 2. They have always been terrible.

Sonic Rivals, Sonic Advance 1 through 3, and Sonic Battle were all portable Sonic games which were certainly decent. Sonic Riders, a console game, while arguably imperfect, was still a relatively good attempt at a game.

I haven't played the GBA or PSP games, Sonic Riders was barely decent.

Outside of handhelds, anyways. Sonic06 pretty much killed the series for me. After playing that and Sonic Genesis on the GBA, I realized SEGA will never be able to fix Sonic and will just find new and horrible ways to rape my childhood.

Sonic Heroes killed it for me, if anything SNG was one of the better games since.

Sonic Genesis on GBA was terrible, yes, and Sonic the Hedgehog was obviously horribly programmed. However, even after pumping out these instances of shit, they are coming out with Sonic Rush Adventure (actually made by them this time), which seems to be a good game. Sonic Rivals 2, while not being developed by Sonic Team, looks much better than the first, which people all agree was decent, at the least, and if this is any sign as to its potential quality, I'd say that's a pretty positive sign.
And, speaking of new and horrible ways to rape our childhoods.

No, that's not sarcasm.
And, am I the only one who completely hates the idea of Sonic and Mario being in the same game without the purpose being to beat the utter shit out of each other in the grudge match of the century? Of course, each character would be given their proper abilities, so Sonic would have his speed, homing attacks, and spin dashes, meaning that he'd be able to successfully reduce Mario to a pile of bleeding flesh. Mario could jump a lot, I guess.

Ok, seeing as my post is now irrelevant, what were we talking about?
Leipzig and the Mario & Sonic Olympics, it looks really bad, and even if it isn't, it can't possibly be anywhere near the same league as Brawl or Mario Galaxy.

Gameplay is more important than reputation, in Super Smash Bros, Mewtwo and Ganondorf can be defeated by Pichu and Princess Peach. It would be impossible to control him moving at Mach speed, in most of the recent games you barely control him going as slow as he already does.

You could control him at mach speeds if they didn't have such shitty turning and jumping mechanics. And it's the fucking waggle Olympics. All the control that you need is waving the remote around at mass speeds to make him run faster, and I'll be happy.
