The Golden Compass caused a few religious flame wars, it's not the issue itself that's so amusing, but listening to some of these Christians lash out while they have no idea what they're talking about.

To be fair, my 12th grade public speaking class in liberal New York isn't much better, they aren't conservative, they just don't know anything; in a class discussion, they actually thought Democrats are conservatives who support Bush, Iraq did 9/11, and justified it with statements along the lines of "I don't give a shit", and these people are going to be voting next year.
