Kid saves dad's life, wants PS3 in return.Son, 9, saves dad in runaway truck, wants a PS3Written by Matt Swider on August 10, 2007 If you were watching cable news yesterday, you probably saw a story about 9-year-old Matty Lovo saving his father, Matt Lovo, who passed out behind the wheel of his tractor-trailer. Carrying more than 100,000 pounds of weight behind him, young Matty took control of the big rig and called for help via C.B. radio despite never having been behind the wheel of a car. Help came from another driver who hopped in to turn off the truck and steer it back to safety. Without Matty’s quick effort, he, his father and others could’ve been seriously injured. CNN’s Kyra Phillips asked him if he thought he was a hero and he unabashedly answered “Yeah.” So, what is the young, self-described hero of nine going to do now? “He keeps telling me he thinks he needs his PlayStation 3 now for a reward,” his father answered for him. The CNN interview ended with Rob Marciano, Kyra Phillips’ co-anchor in the afternoon, saying that he can’t even figure his out, to which Phillips suggested he give his PS3 to Matty. Way to put the man and his $500 console on the spot. This story leaves us with two realizations: 1) Matty Lovo deserves a PS3 so that he can save the day virtually this time and 2) Rob Marciano is one of those people who own a PS3, yet can’t figure out HD and doesn’t know backwards compatibility is a standard feature. http://www.gamingtarget.com/article.php?artid=7365 |
